Terms of Service
Using Chiplag
A short, readable agreement for publishing and keeping a deck on Chiplag.
Accounts
You must provide accurate account and profile information, keep your password secure and be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for activity under your account. Usernames are personal and may not be sold or transferred without our agreement.
Decks and content
You retain ownership of the content you create. You grant Chiplag permission to host, store, process, display and deliver that content as needed to operate the service. Only upload content you have the right to use. Deck owners and members are responsible for what they publish on a deck.
Acceptable use
Do not use Chiplag to harass people, publish illegal content, distribute malware, infringe copyright or privacy, evade access controls, scrape the service abusively, or interfere with other users and decks. We may remove content, limit access or close an account when needed to protect the service or comply with the law.
Storage and availability
Deck plans include storage limits; profiles have a separate media allowance. Keep media within the published limits and do not rely on Chiplag as your only copy. We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
Membership and billing
Paid deck plans, prices, billing periods and limits are described in the Subscription Policy. PayPal processes payments. The current checkout is a one-time payment for the selected period and does not create an automatic recurring subscription unless the checkout expressly says so.
Cancellation and refunds are governed by the Cancellation Policy and Refund Policy, together with any rights that cannot legally be waived.
Ending use
You may stop using the service at any time. We may archive or close accounts that are inactive, unsafe or in breach of these terms, following the notice rules shown in the account settings where applicable. Content may remain briefly in backups after deletion.
Disclaimers and liability
Chiplag is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost content, or interruptions caused by third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue informally.
Nothing here prevents you from bringing a claim in a court that has jurisdiction under applicable consumer-protection law, or from exercising a right that cannot legally be waived.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
